The tide rushed in: crazy, fast, wild, dangerous. We found the place where we’d taken the kids once, many years ago. It was private,...

Is our true vision 20/20 in 2020?

In 2019, I kept thinking of 2020 as something to do with vision. When you have an eye exam, 20/20 is defined as perfect vision. None of...

About

American transplant in England.  Facing a tough journey.

p1220541-hdr.jpg

Firstly, a child of God. Global Christian worker with husband, Steve, since the week after our honeymoon in December, 1985.  Mother to three delightful young adults.  Raised around much-loved extended family on a cattle farm in Kansas.  Served in Christian ministry in Texas, Guatemala, Germany, and now England, where we have been for 27 years. All five of us are dual citizens of the USA and the UK.

I love watercolour painting, baking, hiking, tea rooms, healthy eating, hot tubs, watermelon, and ripe peaches. Also, travel/adventure/exploring and doing just about anything as a family. Our three children and two-in-laws all live in the US. Any arrivals airport terminal where we are joyfully and noisily reunited is a top-of-the-list “happy place”.

It was a shock when I as diagnosed in January, 2020, with early ovarian cancer (no symptoms) after prophylactic surgery to prevent ovarian cancer. Or that was the idea anyway. God has ministered to me so powerfully and in such a real way, that I wanted to tell people about the reality of His help.  That they can have it, too.  I want to use every bit of this hard journey to give Him honour and glory.
